Natural bronzers

If you’re like me, now that spring has hit and the sun is coming out, you might be realizing that you are in some serious need of a sun-kissed glow. One simple way to achieve that look (in just a few seconds) is to use a bronzer in your makeup routine! It’s the perfect way to get a sunless, faux glow.

How to Properly Apply a Bronzer

Before we begin, you might be wondering how to actually use a bronzer! It’s not rocket science, but there are some tips and tricks and you definitely want to avoid overdoing it!

A good rule of thumb is to think of where the sun would naturally contour your face and give you a tan. I like to imagine applying in the shape of a “3” on my face! Start along the outer sides of your upper forehead and lightly sweep the brush along your hairline, then make a fish face and sweep up your cheekbones, and then lightly on your jawline.

How to contour with bronzers

You want to choose a color that complements your skin tone and isn’t too dark (think like 1-2 shades darker than your skin tone). You might also want to pop some bronzer on the tip and sides of your nose (remember, this is where the sun usually hits!). And also your neck and chest because you don’t want to have too drastic of a change from your face. Apply with an angled brush (like this one) for best results and most flawless application!
